Jocelyn and David

Sometimes that special someone is so perfect that you just have to marry them twice. I was definitely sad that I didn’t get to attend the April wedding, but the homemade mint tea on this hot humid day made everything feel better again. This blog is also proof that going all out on your big day doesn’t mean you have to go super big.

Stepping out of my car, I was instantly soaked in sweat. The humidity was insane, but the setup was perfect. Thank goodness these two opted for a big tent.

David was pretty much fully dressed, and Jocelyn was putting the finishing touches on her hair and makeup. I will say that her Dad is basically a ninja in his abilities to slip in and out without being detected.

A little pretend lipstick touch up action.

I need more brides that will let their dog chill right on the dress while getting ready.

Front and center, right on the dress once again. Jocelyn told me she didn’t care because it was cute, and I completely agree.

After David and Jocelyn fed me a random berry growing from the vines, Jocelyn’s father comes running up screaming “POISON!”

The absolute last photo before the skies ripped open with rain. Everything on the edge of the tent had to be moved inward, and everyone fought the wind to keep things in place. As we sat looking at the radar to see when the storm would pass, everyone shared stories to pass the time. Thankfully, the rain didn’t last till 7 pm which was still three hours away. When it died down to a sprinkle, the grandparents emerged from the safety of the house and the ceremony began.

Ring girl, model, singer, story teller. This girl is everything.

These three were super helpful in keeping my equipment out of the rain. They took it upon themselves to move my stuff more inward along with their own gear, and I am super grateful for that.

Since I wasn’t at the April wedding, I’m guessing this is probably their second first kiss.

The model doing what she does best.

Nap number two for the day.

Jocelyn and David didn’t really have an itinerary or formalities that would normally take place on a wedding day. I asked if they were going to have a first dance, and they said most likely not because they would be too nervous to do it. I talked them into doing a few seconds worth when it came time for her sister and niece to sing to them. I think they secretly enjoyed it.

Jenny, maker of the tea.

The ninja himself.

Winner winner chicken dinner!

It was super nice getting to work a wedding where everything was carefree, and nothing was set in stone. The rain we could have done without, but because of it they now have another piece of a story to tell. If you ask me how this day went, I would say it went pretty perfectly.
