I know what you are saying right now. Isn’t boudoir technically supposed to be inside, more specifically, inside a bedroom? Well, you are right by definition, but Ms. B wanted to break the norm and stand out from the rest of the bedspread scenes. I am not going to lie though, I was completely nervous the entire duration. Although it was a slightly chilly early spring morning, there were still random people sprinkled around. We were able to ninja around those prying eyes, and we left with some pretty spectacular images.

I always tell my clients to start out with their least favorite outfit when we first begin. This is because most people need to break away from the initial jitters before they really start feeling super confident in front of the camera. That did not apply to Ms. B during this boudoir session.

She hopped up to take a seat on the tree stump, and next thing I know she was back down dancing around trying to look at her backside. Lesson learned that day: Always check the stump for chunks sticking up or you’ll end up with some wood in your butt.

Over the years I have learned that wind is not a woman’s friend when it comes to their hair. SO when you are in a situation where you can’t escape it, then you just have to embrace it.

Look how tiny this little turtle is! This little guy was chilling on the gravel path we were walking, and as I was pointing him out to Ms. B she kept thinking I was pointing at a rock. We moved the little guy off the trail, and he thanked us by leaving a few sprinkles of urine on her hand.

THis time of year you have to be very conscious of ticks. Some tips I suggest: brush yourself off after walking (or lying) in the wilderness, and check every inch of your skin in the shower. I Don’t want anyone developing an allergy to red meat.

My absolute favorite set from the boudoir session! Dr. Evil, step aside, I found someone else who can rock the pinky to the mouth look! This only works when the sun isn’t directly overhead, otherwise you are going to have issues with squinting.

You don’t need to wait for that perfect someone to come along and enter your lives before you have an excuse to do a boudoir session. It can be a gift you do for your soul. It’s such an easy and tangible way to see just how beautiful you really are, and it never gets old hearing my clients say how amazing they felt afterward.
