Erin and Matt

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan as your traverse your wedding day. You just have to look back on some of those mishaps and laugh because those instances are now just a bit of character that is a part of your story. All that matters is your friends and family are there to celebrate your happiness, and that there is no shortage of smiles on each of their faces. Wait, I can’t say everyone had a smile on their face on this day. Unfortunately, Santa had a frown when Erin denied his warm lap. Alright, let’s get to it!

There was a mishap in the ordering of their tweed suits, but somehow the jacket still matches perfectly.

I don’t know why jacket pockets are sewn shut, but a steak knife pocket knife makes quick work of liberating those threads. I’m also pretty sure he grabbed this knife because someone had stolen his pocket square.

Samuel Adams, this is your one free promotion.

Erin took her first bath ever as an adult the night before her wedding. When I asked how it went, she said it was surprisingly uncomfortable, and she couldn’t figure out how to drain the water.

What’s wrong with my makeup!? It was just a stray hair. Also shout out to Jenny once again from Bombshell Beauty!

Nothing beats an epic set of fake lashes.

Sike! We rocking all natural up in here!

So apparently Erin always sprays her perfume out in front of her and jump twirls into the mist.

I dare you all the find a group more badass beautiful than these ladies.

A little emergency button repair.

Those sleeves though <3 Also, seriously the easiest dress I’ve ever had to fluff.

These guys were absolutely the easiest to photograph despite their lack of ability to produce shenanigans.

As you can tell, Matt loved each and every no look high five he received before his first look with Erin.

This photo encapsulates the evening quite well. A teary Matt, a smiling Erin, and a beer chugging Wes.

The girls all had names for their furs. I don’t know if I can recite them all correctly, but i’ll try. From left to right we have Jebodiah, Gertrud, Mr. Sprinkles, Smelly Cat, and Frank.

Erin after seeing this shot “It’s like we’re in Colorado!” Always amazes me what you can create in certain scenery. This is literally a dead bush by a sidewalk with trees growing at various elevations in the background.

Jenna trying to sneak a snack.

Told them to spray the bottles at me without hitting me with the cork. Also you were right Allison, your face was totally blocked :P

I need more red photo opportunities in my life. This is a bush right by the building we were planning on doing family portraits in front of. While we waited for the masses to gather, we took this quick shot.

It’s rare I eat any of the cake, but I was not going to pass up this cookie.

Even after the first look, Matt was still full of feels as Erin walked towards him. Comparing this photo with this next one of the bride, you can see a perfect example of two forms of happiness.

Second time shooting at Hagley Soda House, and my first time shooting an outdoor ceremony so close to sunset…literally had about 9 minutes of light. Also, Ryan is a pretty good officiant if I do say so myself.

These speeches though…

For the first time ever, favorite dancers of the night go out to the bartenders. The music started blasting, but dessert just got served. That’s totally okay because these guys got the fire started. DJ VO needs no introduction! You all know who he is!

Best mustache of the evening.

I don’t know what was said in this moment, but I’m pretty sure it was something along the lines of “Come here Scrumptious!”

Reeling him in.

I’m going to need to invest in taller light stands because the giant that is Grant completely eclipses my current ones.

When the bride tells you to get down.

A couple of my favorite ladies along with the best V patch of chest hair I have ever seen.

This is love.

There you have it! The second to last wedding of my 2021 year! I feel like this day flew by so quickly, and I am so sad that it’s over. I can easily see why some of my old hospital colleagues love Erin and Matt so much. These two are literally just the best. I also think it’s been way to long since our visit to Stoney’s together so I vote we get the gang back for a few drinks.
