Marisa and Andrew

When I first spoke with Marisa about her wedding, she told me exactly what she wanted. She wanted snow for her engagement pictures, her reception to be a giant party, and most importantly, a late-night taco truck. Alright, so maybe some of that wasn’t discussed in the very beginning, but I still got the hint that this day was going to be epic. There were some setbacks and some tears early on, but the day progressed into something everyone in attendance will never forget.

I actually made Marisa redo this mirror hold, but I ended up liking the naturally occurring moment better. Amy over here was the hair stylist who is extremely talented behind the brush and on the dance floor.

It’s always tough trying to figure out a good spot to place the dress in a lived in home. This shot is so clean and crisp, but just on the other side of the wall to the right is Champaign and food as far as the eye could see.

Pizza, beer, and haircuts.

Finally got to work with the talented Taylor who is doing makeup. Taylor, you can officially scratch me off your bucket list :P

Andrew has the absolute best posture I have ever seen. Not the biggest fan of picture time, but he just falls into a pose so easily.

Marisa’s clasp broke right off her dress so it was held in place the entire evening with a safety pin.

First look with all the girls.

And first look with her love. The wind was absolutely insane so we had to stay tucked close to the house.

The best kind of letters.

Andrew’s Dad was unable to make it, but thank goodness for technology because he was able to witness it in real time.

The entire crew. I will give props to all the girls for handling the cold, and props to the bearded groomsman for bringing Andrew back a beer. We had to walk quite a ways to get passed the cars in the parking lot.

Going to have to start stealing this idea. Marisa had this shot as one of her requests. Beautiful and fierce ladies!

One of my favorite shots of the day. Using the broken fence as a natural fence.

The favorite shot of the day. At this point the sun was already gone, and it was starting to get dark fast.

My first Mr. and Mrs. entrance where the couple busted through a banner into their introductions.

Marisa’s mom chugged a bottle of wine right after her speech.

The best part about this wedding was that I got to see a lot of my old friends that I left when I pursued photography full time. Seeing them all come together on the dance floor was amazing.

You may recognize these two from a very recent wedding I did!

Someone from across the dance floor asked this young lady where she would rank me on a list of photographers. It was to loud so she just held up her answer.

Caitlin is a whip her hair everywhere kind of dancer.

Mama was getting it!

Seriously, so many familiar faces for me. It was great.

The always popular double fisting dance.

When “Turn Down For What” builds up, and DJ Hector switches it to “Dancing Queen.” Marisa’s reaction vs Jessica’s on the right.

It’s too tough to pick a favorite dancer of the night. I’m going to have to give the medal to everyone collectively who started and ended on the dance floor. I was impressed at all the people who made it through the barrage of group dance songs. You guys were seriously the bomb.

Also, do I even have to mention DJ Hector and Chase the videographer anymore? It’s legit the dream team. Also shoutout to Terra the coordinator. I’m not even sure it’s her job, but she killed it.

Finally got Andrew on the dance floor. He secretly loves it.

My favorite kind of sandwich.

It was a cold day when I did their engagement portraits, and their wedding was just missing some snow. I got to work with some great people, see some old friends, witness love, and eat tacos. I can’t ask for anything more than that.
