Brittany and Kane

I have known Kane through his sisters for quite a while now. I actually went back in my archives to 2010 when I did their family portraits. I thought long and hard about posting baby Kane on here, but instead I sent that gem to his beautiful wife, Brittany, so she can bask in his awesomeness. For those of you who don’t know, Brittany is an amazing woman. She volunteers as POCAHONTAS for Pursuit For Peace (click to check out their Facebook). These wonderful ladies dress up as Disney princesses, and go out on a mission of putting smiles on the faces of sick children. A cause that hits home to me personally, and one that I’m sure everyone is thankful for. It was such an honor for me to be a small part of her big day since she is such a big part in every smiling child’s day. Welcome to the beauty of Brittany and Kane.

Mama bear doesn’t get to sit back, and watch her daughter get ready. She is right there every step of the way making sure Brittany is as beautiful as ever. I really like this shot because it sort of looks like she has a cigarette in her mouth, but it’s actually a clip for the hair extensions.

The wedding day is upon us, and the phrase “you may now kiss the bride” is mere hours away. That does not mean preparations are over. There is still some last minute changes to be made to the seating chart.

Brittany put all her bridesmaids to work. Ashley made the cake which you will see later, and Kelly here is the fabulous makeup artist.

And here we have my favorite shot of Brittany. It’s crazy how gorgeous this girl is!

Kane is a man who does not wear jewelry. Brittany gifted him a watch, and after saying “I Do” he now has a ring around his finger. So he went from wearing nothing to wearing two things.

It’s pretty common to see guys struggle with their ties (even clip ons).

The guys are always fun. Most of the time they start out a little hesitant to be in front of the camera. Once they get loosened up though they have a blast. Craig and Mike setup Kane in front of this mirror for me, and bantered with him off camera.

Peaking at the wedding guests. She told me she watched the entire party walk up to the alter from this very spot.

When there is way to much cuteness in one photo. These girls took their time, and made sure Brittany had a beautiful path to walk on.

And here’s the reason why they got all misty eyed.

So much love in this kiss, and it was so nice they did it twice. I’d like to point out the father of the bride in this next photo, and compare him to the previous photo. If you think he looks like he is saying “alright now” you would be 100% correct.

My first time doing a spiral staircase shot! I love it!!! The Belmont Hall is beautiful.

I love a bride who is not afraid to get her dress a little dirty. This was actually her idea, and I am so happy she came up with it. My cheeks are so sore from all the smiling this photo makes me do.

Gorgeous across the line!

The guys aren’t to bad either.

Flower girls invading the Mother Son dance. They were immediately told to leave the premises by the mamas.

While the guys were getting ready, I specifically asked Brittany’s father if he was going to tear up the dance floor later. He told me he had a bad knee. During the father daughter dance, he proceeds to kill it.

Once again, I’d like to point out that he told me he couldn’t dance because of his bad knee.

Keeping up with tradition, I’d like to introduce Megan, my favorite dancer of the night. She wasn’t out there very much, but when the percolator song came on she dropped some jaws. I’ve never seen it done so well.

Spin the bottle dance off, my new favorite thing.

my night goes by so fast when the dance floor is full of smiles. Those same smiling faces just hours before were filled with tears of happiness. A daughter walked along side her father while her husband to be was anxiously waiting. Officiants always ask “Who gives this woman to be married to this man?” Watching this family throughout the day, that phrase can’t be more wrong. They are not giving away their baby girl, they are gaining family members. Brittany and Kane are a link to an ever growing chain of love and happiness. As they step into their new world of MARRIAGE, I can’t help but be a little excited about the future of some little Brittany and Kane’s running around :) Get to work guys!
