Ivana and Drew

For some, this past Saturday was the last hoorah before summer officially ended. For Ivana and Drew, Saturday was their moment of “I Do.” When I met this couple last year for their engagement portraits, I knew that their wedding was going to be an absolute party. This of course was before I knew that everyone was from in or around Milford. If I know one thing from experience, it’s that those guys know how to have fun. Every person in attendance, from friends to family, did not view me as a vendor who was there to work. I felt like I was an extension of their love which allowed me to capture the intimacy and rawness of their wedding day. With that being said, let’s begin this blog with our gorgeous bride, her beautiful bridemaids, and a camera hungry bridesman.

The bridal party got together and created this gift box for Ivana as a surprise. The earrings and ring you see here are made from the sand from Ivy, the wedding venue. Such a great idea for a keepsake.

And of course the mirror photo I always have to take.

Just a heads up, your hotel floor may look clean, but looks can be DECEIVING. Ivana’s feet were equally dirty, but she had just finished shaving her legs.

I really loved this idea Drew had for the groomsmen. I am personally a huge fan of bow ties, and I have never seen a wooden one before.

Sometimes you just need more than two hands.

My favorite shot of the guys. Sipping whiskey while puffing on cigars, and just legitimately having a blast.

One of the things Ivana wanted to do was a first look with her father. Every time we spoke before the wedding he kept telling me how much of a softy he was when it came to his family. It was one of the most emotional first looks with Dad I have ever been a part of. Bodi on the other hand was crying for different reasons.

Also, I’m a softy when it comes to anything. This moment was one of those anythings.

I want to give a shout of to the officiant who whispered to Drew to pull up his sunglasses. I’ll never get tired of witnessing a groom gaze upon his wife to be. Also, this is probably my most favorite photo of a groom and his best man.

The vows were amazing. Laughter, tears…just amazing.

Throughout the journey leading up to this moment, they made it clear that they did not want to spend a ton of time doing formal portraits. They wanted to get back as fast as possible to their friends and family, and start the celebration. I love and respect that.

I’m telling you, squad goals. These guys were so fun.

Andy, father of the bride, gave a really touching speech. His father past away on this very day, and Ivana and Drew were not aware of that when they set their date. One of my favorite small details of the day was the grandfather’s CUFF LINKS in her bouquet.

I want you to guess who wanted that BOUQUET more.

I’ll give it to drew, I was feeling the heat behind my camera.

This needs to be the pre-garter toss ritual from now on.

The maid of honor, Ivana’s sister, was the one who caught the bouquet. The fine gentleman who caught the garter is her fiance. That’s the way I like it.

You might recognize this dancer here from a previous wedding. She wasn’t tearing up the floor then because she was about as pregnant as you can get. WIthout having to dance for two, she was killing it. Sadly, she did not make my favorite dancer of the night. She as well as a few others were close runner ups though.

This face is not an angry face. This face is the I love this song, and I want more people to come on the floor this instant face.

I’d like to point out her hand position. She and Drew are sort of getting commentary in the background on how to cut the cake.

Where is the fun in following the rules though.

That was a top to bottom cake grab and smash.

Favorite dancer of the night. It was really a close battle between him and a lot of the girls. Nipple touch tipped the odds in his favor.

Friends will always be there to pick you up.

As the glow stick send off line collapses around them, I scramble to get a shot. they burst through last minute to freedom in their rickshaw bike as husband and wife.
