Steph and Justin

Back in my Respiratory Therapy days, I had a few handfuls of hospital staff members that I thoroughly enjoyed picking on. Steph, a nurse from the 5th floor of Nanticoke, was one of the lucky ones to fall within that category. After I hung up my STETHOSCOPE to collect dust, she messaged me asking if I could photograph her engagement portraits and wedding day in Marydel. My immediate response was “Where the heck is Marydel? And of course I will!” It was an absolute blast hanging around some of my ol nurse pals from yesteryear.

Like mother like daughter. The bride and her mother surprised each other with a wedding day gift. What was absolutely awesome was they both got each other the same exact figurine.

Cowboy boots and John Deere garters. Can’t get anymore southern than those two things. I wish I could have seen his face as he pulled it off for the garter toss. you’ll see why that wasn’t possible in the photos to come.

When Steph gave her father his wedding gift, there was not a dry eye in the room. THere is something special about the bond between a father and daughter.

Got back to the computer to edit this sneak peak, and when I pulled up this photo I was like “Dang girl! Those blues are no joke!”

Favorite quote of the day “There are 24 buttons total, you know justin is not going to have the patience to undue them all tonight.”

I don’t know how these guys hang around each other all the time. I would have cheeks of steel and washboard abs from all the laughing.

That soft and airy look. I’m also a sucker for long trains.

Second favorite quote of the day “We don’t toast with champagne around here!”

It was such a hot day during this Marydel wedding this past Saturday. The bride was getting absolutely miserable in her gown. Luckily one of her bridesmaids had a change of clothes, and let her use her dress for the remainder of the festivities.

I think I’m going to make this a thing. This was my favorite dancer of the night.

Also ladies, you do not need to wear those wedding heels, shoes, or boots all night long. Bring something comfortable to slip into for the dancing. Here are four options you can choose from.

Tara, you are such a good friend to give up your dress to the bride!

When the Pony comes on the speakers, you bring a chair to the dance floor, and put a smile on her face.

As the night came to an end, the wedding party gathered in a dance circle. Each face had a smile, and almost every hand had a drink. There is no bubble when it comes to best friends. Their space is your space to fill with hugs, kisses, and tears. As a wedding photographer I get to see so many people come together to celebrate love, and it’s moments like these I will never forget.
