Kaycie and Matt

Here we are in the month of June, and it just also happens to be my busiest month for weddings this year. I met Kaycie and Matt last year when I did their engagement pictures, and it was at that moment that I fell in love with this beautiful couple. The engagement session haD to be rescheduled 4 or 5 times due to some pretty insane thunderstorms. Luckily, we got that mess out of the way early, and were blessed with A DAY FILLED WITH ABSOLUTE BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE. iF i COULD SAY ONE THING ABOUT kAYCIE, IT IS THAT SHE IS EXCELLENT AT EXPRESSING THE SHEER VOLUME OF EXCITEMENT AND NERVOUSNESS SHE IS FEELING THROUGH TEXT. nOTHING GETS ME MORE PUMPED THAN A BRIDE WHO IS FULL OF ENERGY WHEN IT COMES TO HER WEDDING DAY. whEN i ARRIVED AT Saint Stephan’s United Methodist Church, I was greeted by a room filled with the most beautiful ladies, and that is how I am going to start this blog.

It always tough deciding what photos to include, and which ones I want to leave out. In this very first shot, you would never guess that this was round two with the eyelashes. The first attempt had to be wiped clean due to the amount of giggling Kaycie was suffering from every time she had to remain still with her eyes closed :P

Here is my favorite prop, random mirror on the wall. Allows me to get the raw, uncut, sheer candid gorgeousness.

The spray shot is one of my favorites. I’d also like to point how how amazing her hair is!!!

So we setup the dress on the doors, and I snapped a few photos. When I turned around to ask if she had anything else she would like to do with with it before I pulled it off, I saw this. So lets all just take a moment, and just swoon over how beautiful she is.

Warning: If you’re the maid of honor you may want to ask the bride to put her cream cheese bagel down before helping her with her jewelry. Luckily, clean up is easy!

The girls had so many good ideas that we used throughout the day. This one was one that I had been wanting to try out.

Throughout the entire week, Kaycie and I were constantly texting back and forth about the weather. On Tuesday they were calling for 40% chance of thunderstorms a couple days later the forecast changed to 20%, and the night before it was 10%. You best believe we capitalized on the beautiful day! Just a heads up, the next three photos are absolutely gorgeous.

It’s always interesting to see how the guys will be in front of the camera. Sometimes they do anything they can to limit the amount of photos they are in, sometimes it’s hard to get them to smile at least once, and sometimes…

your groom gets hit in the jewels.

I have learned over the years to always be at the ready. The photo before this was a regular posed shot, and the photo after this was two guys doing everything that they can to protect what they had.

Another shot that was literally a split second in the making.

Formal portraits don’t always have to be so formal. There is nothing like a little shenanigans to help loosen everyone up…and you’ll always have a picture of your best man with his tongue inches away from your neck.

To all you grooms out there. If your wife tells you to be easy during the cake cutting ceremony, that does not mean that she will follow those same rules.

No joke, these two boys consistently got the glow stick circle around each other heads.

I really liked this photo booth idea. They had two girls with Fuji Instax cameras, a little album to tape the picture in, and space for you to write something to the couple.

If you guys didn’t see my story on Facebook or Instagram, here is a photo of my favorite dancer of the night. It was so good, but there is no way that the dance would ever catch on.

Okay, I’m wrong! One other person started doing it.

Towards the end of the night, one of the guests requested to sing a song to the couple. He sang “In Color” by Jamey Johnson, with chew in his mouth, and it was absolutely amazing! Yes, that is his spit bottle in his hand.

So we end this blog with the lovely couple slow dancing to the live performance (side note: as they were slow dancing, Kaycie was eating cheese cubes that she had palmed prior). As I Scroll through the photos, I can’t help but smile at the happiness that was their wedding day. It’s so easy to see the love that these two have for one another, and I look forward to see their journey continue.
