Alexa and Jesse

This is the very first wedding where I had zero contact with the bride and groom. Luckily, Alexa’s mother, Terri, is an awesome wedding coordinator that I have worked with several times in the past. I was nervous coming into this day because I had no idea how the bride and groom would be, but these two are textbook examples of my ideal clients. They went with the flow, laughed all day long, and the vulgarities that spewed out of their mouths was everything I have ever wanted. Scroll on because this one is amazing.

The AirBnB the ladies were getting ready at required you to traverse three flights of stairs which showed me how out of shape I was. The barrage of smiling faces I met, and the sea of twisted tea that was as far as the eye could see made it all worth it. Also, shoutout to James for picking me up from the venue, and driving me to the getting-ready spot.

Alexa “Do I look at my hair or do I look at you?”
Random Bridesmaid “Give him blue steel!”

I heard a bridesmaid exclaiming something along the lines of “Delete that photo! My outfit is horrible!” Now it is forever a part of the blog in all its glory.

Alexa told me that she wanted as many pictures of her niece throughout the day. Here she is fighting off round one of naptime.

Any bridal party that sets up the dresses prior to my arrival will forever have my heart. The twisted tea here was intentional. Sponsor us!

Attempting the sultry look ALWAYS ended with giggles a second later.

The imperfect photos will always be my favorite. The wind was putting the hair to the test.

And here is a technically perfect shot to compare.

Alexa was not the bride who sat back, and had everyone else do everything around her.

The way her dress was treated, I am surprised it did not end up absolutely filthy before the ceremony. She kicked it aside, walked on it, and caught it on everything.

Another example of a technically perfect photo, but let’s compare it to another one where the bride provided her own pose.

Elegant as a swan.

The scissors, oh my goodness. First off, Alexa cut the tag off her dress with such reckless abandonment that I thought for sure she cut into the dress as well. We should have never given them back to her because this bridesmaid got a little more than she bargained for when her straps were cut free.

Everyone managed to christen their dresses before the ceremony. I’m not even joking when I say everyone.

Terri was one of those random vendors that I clicked with when I first went into photography full time.

First look with Jesse. How can you not love these two!?

Trying to do the stoic not look at the camera bride and groom pose.

Flower crowns on baby girls <3

Sick as crap on his wedding day, but still looking scrumptious.

First ever hand eyeglasses in a wedding photo for me. Also, I can’t tell if the flower girl is getting an eye poke from her Dad.

Alexa “My foot feels wet. Did you spill something on me? OMG it’s a worm!!!”

This energy all day long <3

Cheetos stain number three for Alexa today.

“OH SH*T!” A quote from Alexa when she realized her veil fell off during her entrance.

Missed the entire ceremony to take nap number two.

The way Jesse looks at his soon to be wife.

Oh sh*t moment number two. Forgot to grab her bouquet before walking back down the aisle.

For some reason, this was the most difficult shot of the day, haha. The finished wedding gallery will contain so many outtakes that I absolutely loved. Can not wait for you all to get them back when I am finished.

It’s been a couple years, but I have made my return back to Ivy!

Paris kept the dance floor filled the entire evening. You all were amazing. Oh sh*t moment number three was on me. I had a little panic moment right before the bride and groom were introduced. I don’t know if the announcer sensed it as they saw me scrambling back to my camera bag, but there was a moment’s pause before the introduction. That was so appreciated on my part.

Probably my favorite first dance photo of this year.

The sheer joy in this photo.

Sometimes you just have to grab a titty.

Brother Sister dance hits a bit differently, and I love everything about it.

The way mama bear looks at her son.

I think this was Alexa’s Uncle, and she had him sing her Grandfather dance song.

A Brother Sister dance is special, but the dance with her Grandfather was just that little bit extra.

Fingers crossed that I see Terri again in white ;)

Favorite dancer of the evening was this gentleman solely because he kept his beer in his jacket pocket.

Sharing the love.

Breaking the fourth wall by acknowledging the camera.

If I worked at PRMC with just all these people, it might have been enough for me to stay a Respiratory Therapist. BUT if I stayed an RT, I would never have started shooting weddings. I can’t believe I am so lucky to spend my days with people like these. I really hope I get to cross paths with everyone because I really did enjoy every second of this wedding. My abs might just poke out a little bit from the amount of laughing we all shared.
