Kelsey and Peyton

I have been waiting for this wedding day for a very long time. When Kelsey said she did not want anyone else to capture her day, I had to take it on. I would usually just like to hang out as a guest, but photographing this crew is always a good time. Scroll on to see what family looks like in front of my lens!

“Do you want me to actually gloss her lips?”

There was not a single can of hairspray around. So instead of the spray shot, we did a backlit drink.

Had to wait for Makayla to find her missing slippers.

Hustling a game of pool.

Keeping Dad close by on your wedding day.

Little bro got glassy eyed.

Actually, this kiddo is little bro. He did not get glassy eyed. He was angry eyed.

There is only so much you can control on your wedding day. Weather is something that will do what it wants no matter what. Luckily, Willowbrook has a few covered areas that we could strategically use.

The early arrivers started coming so we headed inside. Before tucking away, one more bridal portrait.

The guys however just took the rain. It started as a mist that progressively got heavier. The story of the day is light mist, heavy mist, rain, and the cycle starts back over.

Peyton trying to hold back tears, and not being very successful.

“I was fine walking until I saw Mila, then it hit me.”

It’s definitely tough having to change plans from what your originally envisioned. When your venue has a nice backup option, Plan B isn’t too bad.

Peyton coming in clutch by moving the microphone before doing the kiss. Made it so much easier to edit out. Right when the ceremony ended, the skies opened up and it started to pour.

The first official family portrait.

No going to smile for the camera, but he’ll smile as he zips away.

Count yourselves extra lucky that formal pictures landed during the light mist part of the cycle.

So many nut slaps. Also love the groomsman occupying the bride and groom’s son at the pond in the background.

Doing their best “fabulous.”

The way they picked up Peyton.

This is just off the pavers using the potted flowers as the foreground.

The best part about rain is that everything looks so vibrant.

At this point it started to rain, and we called it a day and headed inside.

DJ VO with his new toy. You too can dance in the clouds! He’s not only great at keeping the party going, but he is always changing and adding to make himself stand out.

Sharing your father daughter dance with your sister is everything.

Hazing his wedding guests.

Both of the speeches were beautifully written, and difficult to get through.

The kids lost interest during those speeches, and created their own entertainment.

Keep in mind, that when this tower was made. the reception had only barely begun.

It’s so good seeing a past bride coming along for the party.

Both of my beautiful ladies <3

Doing nasty things on the floor.

Requested a solo pic at the beginning of the day. Here it is.

Peyton lost a cufflink. It was probably at this moment when it got caught in Kelsey’s hair.

Admiring the hamburger meat.

Sneaking a kiss.

So much hamburger meat came out that day.

Two boys kept collecting the glow sticks, and this is how they spent the entire night.

Last Call with Lauren when the groom wanders behind the bar.

The kind of dancing that makes a man put down his beer.

Tried to worm but that bustle said “let me grab some of that hair.”

“Just touch it.”

Dance is already life for my daughter. This is just a little bit of extra awesomeness.

Sharing that shine.

It has been something special photographing Kelsey throughout her life, and seeing Peyton come in and swoop her off her feet. From Junior homecoming to her surprise proposal. I am so lucky to see this family grow.
