Melissa and Ashley

Another forecast of rain, but thankfully it wasn’t as hot this time. You can do everything right to plan out your wedding day, but the weather is the ultimate wild card. If you are lucky enough though, you’ll still be able to sneak outdoors. Scroll on to see what two teachers can do when their plans have to be changed.

Double the dresses, double the fun.

Started my day with almost all the getting ready portion finished. Faked a few earrings and hair pieces, and we jumped right into the last button on the dress.

Double checking Mommy’s work.

Right before formal picture time, Ashley’s mother was holding up the train to allow for more undercarriage airflow. Here is a reenactment during the shenanigans.

We rushed to get as much done as possible, but the sprinkles and radar made us call an audible to move everything inside.

Walking back down the aisle, and this is already kiss number 3 as Mrs. and Mrs.

Post ceremony cocktails.

Melissa did not enjoy the calming undulations of the floating dock.

The string lights going into the wooded ceremony site are cool, but I really like the reverse perspective.

Layering the bridesmaids in the foreground during the first dance (chef’s kiss).

There are several challenges to getting dinner next. I like this shot because you can easily tell who was first, second, and third.

My daughter’s future.

My daughter’s present.

I asked Nicole if her daughter was really close with Jack, and she said “She just met him for the first time on Thursday.” The definition of adorable.

The best kind of speech is the one where you have to hide yourself.

Don’t let her smile fool you. The loss during paper rock scissors runs deep.

Ran up to me ready for her close up.

You may recognize Jack from my wedding blog last week. He is also my favorite dancer of the night. You’ll see why soon.

Choreographed sprinklers.

Mike “Hey Kim, out of ten, how would you rate Jon as a photographer?” Sike, I am only speculating on what occurred during this moment.

Late night jello snacks.

Leader of the pack.

Coming into the ceremony with seconds to spare.

The look of surprise on both of their faces as they betrayed one another.

The way that AC hits.

Mom and Dad showing him how it’s done.

There was no epic sunset so we had to improvise.

Runner up for favorite dancer. She was whipping that hair all over the place.

Hector is a very good dancer, and it’s rare that he gets humbled. He tried doing some break dance moves only to see Jack answering him back without hesitation.

Ashlyn was bumping and grinding on the post, and then she turned around like “What do you think you’re doing!?"

“Let the fun be gin.”

I think this was my first wedding with the Blades crew. It was so much fun seeing everyone come together and have fun outside of the workplace. With a little liquid courage, the hair gets let down, and the shoes come off. Also, leaving with a free case of beer is okay in my book :P
