Paige and Mike

Rain on your wedding day is good luck…said no bride ever as she watches everything she planned get washed away. Paige started her day upset, and rightfully so, but I’m not lying when I say that this was the smoothest set of rain photos I’ve done to date. If you’ve ever wondered if gorgeous photos were possible when the forecast says otherwise, scroll on.

Paige told me something along the lines of “I’ve cried already because of the rain so it better f*cking rain.”

You gotta lick the tip first.

Mike greeted me with a beer, a Guinness at that, so I was a super happy photographer. I never get any dark beers on wedding days. The subsequent shot we had to take afterward wasn’t too bad either.

One of the top groom photos I have ever captured.

Brittney is one of my favorite hair and makeup artists. Always super fun to be around.

I love the hairspray shot and bonus points with the bridesmaids as foreground and background.

That platinum blond hair.

These girls were so awesome to hang around with all day despite me having to confiscate a vape from one of them for excessive use during photos (cough Mercedes).

The admiring mamas.

I set Dad up for the first look, and Paige still had some final touches to finish. I just kept imagining him standing out there in the rain while patiently waiting. Luckily it held off.

This was when the sky ripped open.

I usually never post a photo of the groom walking down the aisle. This shot of him taking a breath in the rain though was pretty epic.

I met Paige and her Dad at the door to get some rain photos of them. Kudos to the team of Willowbrook! You all seriously made my job way easier than I had expected due to the weather. They are a well-oiled machine for sure.

The best doggy I have ever witnessed be a part of the actual ceremony. Usually they get carted off right after walking the aisle.

The first kiss from the perspective of the officiant. This is always a tricky request because the officiant has to not forget that I need to get into his position. Also, Paige had her eyes open for the majority of them. I think she was looking to see how I was doing.

There was a lull in the weather right after the ceremony, but that did not last long. By the time we had everyone in the woods to start family portraits, it started pouring again.

After family portraits, they were game for doing some pictures with the umbrella.

And some without. These go to show you that beauty can indeed be captured, and the colors the rain brings out are just wonderful. That dress was soaked.

Mike’s smile as he dances with Paige <3

And vice versa.

Top secret present was Michael’s name tattooed on her butt. This photo makes it look like it’s deep in the crack, but it’s just off to the side of the cheek.

Those emotional laughs during speeches never get old.

Big Bad Bruce.

Special dance with her boys.

There was a lot of foot-to-mouth action during this wedding. When your officiant, Will, offers you to chug a beer out of his leg, you can’t say no.

A little champaign spray action.

Paige’s sister met us outside as we were coming back from the final nighttime portraits. She came in a Darth Vader mask and gave me one of my favorite shenanigan photos of the day.

When Mom grinds all up on Dad, you must protect the eyes.

Foot action photo number two of the blog.

A special gift.

My favorite dancers of the evening are these two solely because it’s so erotic and passionate. What more can you ask for?

And there it is! I know Paige and Mike were worried about the rain, but it’s something that can not be controlled. This just proves that even a little water can’t hamper a beautiful day together.
