The last wedding of May and the first blog of June! They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck so tornado warnings must be something extra. Luckily, the showers held off till everyone was tucked away inside dancing the night away. Emily has been a key member of a few weddings I have photographed, and the sight of Taylor shaking his hips on the dance floor is a memory still fresh in my mind two years later. This wedding was such a long drive to get to so it’s only fitting that the sneak peek be equally as grand.
Guinness as a getting ready beer has my complete approval.
One end of the hallway is an epic Groom portrait.
And around the bend on the other end is an epic gown shot. Within a few moments, each corridor was filled with scandalous women as they rushed to get ready. Between one section is where I took cover until the area resumed a PG-13 rating.
Whatever you do, do not lose that polaroid!
30 minutes behind schedule, but cool as a cucumber.
Taylor embracing Emily with tears in his eyes saying he needed this moment was amazing.
My all time favorite moment of the day, and it seemed to happen in complete slow motion. These are the small imperfections of a wedding day that make the best memories.
Cotton candy lollipop if you come all the way down.
Bringing mom up to walk side by side as a surprise.
Would never guess that the weather was going to be anything other than the most perfect mostly cloudy setup.
Grabbing the beer in stride without it foaming over is a power move.
Not pictured here just out of frame is the little Amish children on big wheels watching the love.
The perfect speeches have emotion…
…and are filled with jokes that everyone can enjoy.
Introductions and first dances haven’t even started but these guys were already starting the party.
It never fails, an awesome dance moment comes to fruition when I am actively moving to a different spot. My shooting from the hip skills are not to shabby though.
He came up to me and told me he was going to do the worm, and he delivered.
The floor was filled with a sea of bumping and grinding.
There are so many group dance songs, but the Macarena still ranks king in my eyes. DJ Hector doing the 3 hour drive to come here as well because he knew his favorite photographer was going to be right there with him.
4 years after Cait’s wedding, and they’re still dancing to Best Friend by Doja Cat.
My first time at Olde Village Mill, and they made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible.
So we have a tie with my favorite dancer of this wedding. This girl was having mini dance parties to herself during inopportune moments. Or are those moments the perfect time to break out into a dance party? Anyway, she’s supposed to be lining up for a photo.
Cait showing us the moves that won Greg’s heart.
Ryan and I will be starting a brewery. End of story.
And the second half of my favorite dancer of this wedding! Her facial expression and those dance moves are everything <3
“You better not be leaving because that ass is going to be shaking on the dance floor with me.” Or something along those lines.
And somehow with the heavy rain, a light sprinkle emerged and let us do a sparkler send off. Watching the weather all week can add a lot of stress, but with a little bit of luck, a perfect wedding day grows.
